Scope of works: Air-conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation, Electrical and Fire Protection Systems.
Project Overview and Challenges:
- In response to a national emergency, our team was entrusted with the design and build of a temporary facility at the Terminal 3 Coach Stand, Changi Airport.
- The swab test facility was approximately 2,000 sqm. It was designed to handle 350-400 pax at a time.
- The project scope encompassed structural steel works, mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, and full interior fit-out, all to be completed within an exceptionally tight 10-day timeframe.
- Despite unprecedented challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic — including manpower shortages due to quarantine restrictions and material supply disruptions during Circuit Breaker One — our dedicated local team rose to the occasion. Through seamless coordination, innovative problem-solving, and round-the-clock effort, we successfully completed and commissioned the facility within 10 days, inclusive of authority clearances for operational use.
- The project scope included the complete design and installation of:
- Electrical distribution and lighting systems
- Lightning protection system
- Air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) systems
- Fire alarm and hose reel systems
Our ability to deliver this mission-critical project on time and to the highest safety and quality standards earned us a Letter of Commendation from the Managing Director of Changi Airport Group (CAG), recognizing our outstanding performance and commitment under extraordinary circumstances.
