Client: Housing Development Board (HDB)
Construction Period: Oct-2021 – Jan 2024
Scope of works: Installation of Pneumatic Waste Conveyance System.
Project Overview and Challenges:
- In modern Singapore housing estates, HDB has introduced the Pneumatic Waste Conveyance System (PWCS) across all new public housing developments—technology previously found mainly in private condominiums. This advancement significantly enhances living conditions, hygiene, and environmental sustainability for residents.
We partnered with Envac Singapore, a pioneer in the PWCS industry, to deliver the complete PWCS installation for the Tengah HDB estate. Serving more than 80 HDB blocks, this project represents the largest PWCS implementation in Singapore to date. - A major challenge of this project was coordinating with multiple main contractors and builders who were simultaneously developing the entire estate. To ensure smooth progress, we established two specialized construction teams:
1. Bin Centre Installation Team focused on the central PWCS facility
2. Discharge Valve Room Team responsible for all aboveground and underground DV room works
Through careful planning, close coordination, and technical expertise, we successfully executed one of Singapore’s most complex and large-scale PWCS installations.
